Drawing inspiration from sensitivity and contradictions, İlayda Tunca’s practice is both resting upon solidarity and aiming at the development of a holistic approach of our times. She engages in creation together with researchers and other artists. She completed her high school education at the Hüseyin Akif Terzioğlu Anadolu Fine Arts High School’s Painting department in Çanakkale. After completing her BA at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’ Graphic Design department in 2017, she started the sub initiative in Çanakkale and directed the RJNR project. She joined the 2019 İstanbul Biennial’s Production and Research Programme as part of the sub initiative. She took part in the burada / şimdi exhibition held in Çanakkale’s Mahal in 2018, and in the Kapı Açık Zaten (The Door is Already Open) exhibition held at Plexus Common Space in İstanbul’s Eminönü district in February, 2020. She currently continues her project called !!! and works both in Çanakkale and İstanbul.
